I looked them up. They are 1998 U.S Marines 1st Class Private Pins

Oh, awesome. I wouldn't even know how to look that up. So they are 16 years old I guess. So they are for the marines? That's cool. I vaguely remember someone telling me that this symbol means Sargeant, but that could be for a different number of striped in the V shape, so I really don't know. But thank you so much for going out of your way to help!

Teelow actually this could be army or marines, most likely Pfc. All of the men on my moms side of the family were in the military, whether it be marines, army or navy. Never the Air Force ;) haha. ~aspiring 12B ranger~

This could also be any year but they look older as new they would either be black or a bright silver. And for future references theres like four sergeant ranks but the first is 3 stripes faced upward, second earns a half circle below them like a specialist would. Just look up sergeant pins or private first class (pfc) pins/patches and you'll see!

Ateipe and Teelow my cousin is actually in the army. He is a Lieutenant that flies helicopters but that's all I know. I only see him on Holidays if we are lucky. He is from Massachusetts. Do either of you know him? Last name Signori? Now THAT would be a small world LoL. They are always saying "its a small world" but sometimes I wonder. I seem to see new people every day even at local places.
