This is a 2012 Topps "Gold Rush" card for Kansas City Royals All Star outfielder ALEX GORDON.

If you've ever done the wrapper redemption, you know these are fairly limited. You got a pack of 5 cards for every 50 (!) wrappers you sent in during the 2012 promotion ... may have just as well waited for someone like me to list some on Listia, right?

The second overall pick by the Royals in 2005, Gordon was once just a footnote for a series of rare error variations of his 2006 Topps rookie card. Along the way, he developed into an outstanding fielder (4 Gold Glove awards) and an astounding hitter, making All Star teams in 2013 and 2014 while having an OPS above .749 in 5 of his 6 full seasons. He elevated himself to stardom with an exciting 2014 postseason during which he stole 4 bases and drove in 11 runs as the Kansas City Royals fell just short of capturing a World Series title.
