I have great success in growing these by seeds. I use Bio Domes to start seeds and plant in small pot after last frost. When it gets warm I plant them outside in a sunny place. Some people have success in pots, but I just plant in the ground. Blooms in early summer and will come back every year in zone 8-10.

have o idea what zone we are? we are in Boston...but since the Black Dahlia was only one town over from me and husband and I love this flower and my favorite color and he has the green thumb.I hope we can do this. Would make me so happy I could cry if I could win this and have it grow. Granted we garden in huge I mean HUGE POTS but we have great garden carrots squash tomatoes, heirloom peppers and chilis, I really would love to have this to brighten my little handicapped world. THANK YOU FOR LISTING IT!!

I hope you win it sweetie. I live in zone 8 SC. If you can put them in huge pots that would be good, or you can start them inside and then plant outside after the last chance of frost. Either way you will have to bring the pot in, or dig them up and winter the root tubers in newspaper in a garage or root cellar. Good luck!

Husaband is very excited and asked if you have them in the hot pink he sees on his mail route he loves as well.
( that will not be an issue) he is planning to pt these in the font of the house on both sides give it a pop of color and the flower is also a protection flower

bid on the others as well. if by chance i loose out would be happy to GIN a mixedlot f both. making me cry who would think a flower would mean so much to both of us? I am not usually a flower person. lol but this one has drawn me in and wrapped me up
