The style, decoration, and construction of the piece defines what is & isn't 'vintage silver.' Rule of thumb is the darker the grooves, the older the piece. I purchased a group of these about 3 years ago, but couldn't even begin to nail down so much as an era. As for the sterling question. I suspect they are. As stated, I've had them for over 3 years, no tarnish and I polish w/my silver polishing cloth but they are not stamped...depending on where they were made, they wouldn't be stamped anyway.

Oh good lord I just realized I spelled Hammered as Hammard. Believe it or not I have a master's degree...hooked on phonics didn't work for me lol!
