Description

The listing, Antique Bottle at least 50-70 years old. has ended.

This bottle was excavated from a dump site that are at least 50 -70 years old. I was warned that it might detract from the value of the bottle if they're improperly washed, but I did brush them off and rinse them quickly. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting them appraised, but I know that they are worth a few bucks a piece, some more than others!

This bottle is 6" high, and 2" diameter for the base. Has a nice design around the bottom half, and an imprinted band around the middle that says "Slade's Salt Cream"

There is a chip in the side (it's not broken, though)

How does one go about properly washing older bottles like these? I have a blue bottle that had a metal top on it that I ended up just chipping off because it was so corroded. I cleaned the bottle in the d/w, but it still has some white from milk of magnesia on the inside, and that's cool w/me. :)

Just wondering what other way there is to do it?

Neat bottles, btw. Watching and becoming a fan. :)

Thanks for the fan. :)

I don't see why they wouldn't do well, especially if some junk style(not calling them junk, that's just what rusty, chippy, not perfectly shiny stuff is called--the style, anyway) lover comes along and scoops 'em up. Or someone who likes bottles, or someone who likes vintage/antiques. :)

Gah! Your beautiful bottles are going too high for me to bid--saving up for something. :/

I hope I didn't offend anyone by using the phrase "junk style." I'm totally in love with this style, and it's a big part of my kitchen. JS is a little rusty, industrial, stuff ya dug out of a mound somewhere so it's totally dirty, but totally cool, old signs, weathered stuff, chippy stuff. Literally one 'man's' trash is someone else's trash treasure. :)
