Description

The listing, Marimo japanese moss ball kawaii ♡ has ended.

Baby Marimos here!! For those of you who know what they are I am giving away 2 baby marimo. For those of you that dont they are quite interesting and Im sure you will love them. These are 100% real marimo, I cleaned out my bigger marimo and rolled these babies.
A Marimo is a rare growth form of the species where algae grow into large green balls with a velvety appearance and are only found naturally in a few lakes in the northern hemisphere. Therefore they are not actually moss, they are unique form of algae.
They are known as japanese moss ball that grow about 5mm per year and can live up to 200 years!!
Marimo have been around since the 1920s and are a japanese national treasure. Japan holds festivals annualy for marimo and believe they give off good luck and are a symbol of everlasting love.
They are also compared to the earth in being green and round and their need to rotate to receive light on all sides; they also float sometimes depending on the water and light and roll around on the bottom floor!
In Japan at lake Akan a great effort is spent to conserve the lake balls. Marimo are only known to form in Japan, estonia, iceland and scottland.
They can grow rather large but very slowly, it is said that taking excellent care of your pet marimo will make all your wishes come true!
*{Winner will receive 2 baby marimo shown in the first pics, not exactly those since I rolled multiple ones, so they might be bigger or same size, the really big ones are mine im just showing as reference. The small glass bottle is NOT included but they will be shipped in the plastic container shown in first pic.}*
I will include instructions on how to care for your marimo, very easy. These would make a fantastic gift, perfect for anyone that adores japanese treasures, live aqua plants, or maybe a friend that needs some cheering up to do or needs that extra good luck!!

* Thanks for visiting & happy bidding! *

Must they be in water? Could they thrive in a terrarium with heavy humidity to keep them wet? Thanks. Very delightful little things!

Thank you! Thats a great question.. I am pretty sure they NEED water to survive because they are live water plants and that is how they grow and stay round. Im not too sure about them surviving in heavy humidity, they would prob become flat and die.. but I would have to do some research on that

I hope this doesnt sound rude. Not my intentions at all. But the seller has seven days to respond to buyer. So you would have plenty of time.

as a seller YOU choose how long you want your auctions. Anyone should be ashamed making these comments. Its nobodys business why she wants to keep her auctions for the days she wants. Its her personal right and reasons. is anyone telling you how to run your auctions? Reguadless the reason ...some people will like to actually get some credits for what they are selling here so they don't want to run short auctions and some people get paid certain days so they do when they can ship. Either way its not your concern..
