Habitat

The Albizia julibrissin grows well in U.S. Department of Agriculture hardiness zones 6B to 9B, primarily from California east across the southern states. It prefers to grow in full sun and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Although it is drought tolerant, it has a healthier deep green color when watered.

This tree produces fragrant puffy pink flowers from late April to early July. The life expectancy of the silk tree is 10 to 20 years.
