Questions & Comments
These are so cute! :) Any idea the time frame? I've never seen metal ones before, although I admit, I haven't seen *everything*! But my Grama used to embroider(and everything else lol ;), and she never had metal ones.
Thanks! I'm not positive about the time frame... 40s? 50s? I am really not sure. My husband's aunt and uncle are HUGE antiques collectors, and she gave me these and some vintage knitting needles. I kept them for a few years, but I'm really not a collector. I *think* the knitting needles are from the same time period, and they are marked 49c for a pack of 4... I have them listed as well. I wish I could be more help!
Oh you've been a *great* help--thank you! I love vintage and antique items as well, especially when they're useful. That's why *I'm* not a collector--tiny house, not much space. Most everything I bring in here has to have a purpose.
I'm watching these and gonna become your latest fan. These are great, and I appreciate you offering them. :)
Exactly! I am doing the best I can to de-clutter right now, but it's hard... there's the nostalgia factor, the coolness factor, and then the usefulness factor. If it's not useful to us, I just have to let it go. I'm so glad I could help! :D
Same boat here. Hubs likes the "one out for one in" rule, but I sometimes get tripped up on the nostalgic factor(family), or the coolness factor(I can't use it right now, but I know as soon as I get rid of it, I'll figure something out lol). I SO don't want to become a hoarder, and I HATE dusting, so that's kept my reality in pretty good check. Every once in awhile, though, I ask myself "what was I *thinking?!" LOL
Anyhoo, good thing I can totally think of 2 uses for these awesome hoops, and *neither* of them means they'd be in anyone's way. :)
LOL you sound like me :) We inherited *a lot* of antiques when my mother-in-law passed, (and every time we see her sister, she gives us more stuff), and I don't like to dust either. She's been gone for over 2 years now, but he has just recently told me that the nostalgia (for the stuff) has worn off, and it's time for this stuff to go! I have some of it listed at Bonanza, and I'm testing some on here... and then there is still a room full of stuff I haven't gotten to yet!
My trouble comes at yard sales. I see something looks useful, so I get it. Then I have no use for it, and I don't know anyone that does, so I end up listing it here :D
Glad you have a use for these... I just haven't found anything to do with them! :)
