My brother gave me this computer and I know it needs a battery and a power cord. It does NOT come with either. Everything else looks to be in order though.

It's an Acer Aspire V5. S/N is NXM89AA005316033A3400 and the SNID is 31600492234 There is also another number on the bottom that is V5-131-2840 I hope that answers your question.

Does your brother know anything about where this computer came from or why it's missing the battery and power cord? Are there any signs of damage to it like marks showing that it might have been dropped or got wet at some point?

He said he couldn't find the battery or power cord. He just gave me the computer when he moved, and I didn't buy replacement parts for it. It does not look like its ever been dropped or gotten wet. It looks perfect except the missing battery/cord.
