I'm trying to figure out how an umbrella can be no drip..where does the rain go and once that place fills up won't it drip anyways?

ok.. I do have a question.. what happens to all the water on the umbrella? is this mildew resistant? lets say you leave it in the car and forget about it?? will it be ok? the next time you go to open it?? being that it was damp when it was closed?
