The listing, NICE ECUADOR 1937 5 CENTAVOS COIN has ended.

Very nice 1937 5 Centavos Ecuador coin. Please see pictures to grade (Nice Nickel color, don't know why they keep coming out bronze color in pictures 1-4. Picture 5 & 6 are the right color but not as clear.. Slightly smaller than a dime. After a period of striking reales, pesos and escudos which must be regarded as a failure, Ecuador ceased minting coins in 1862. In 1884, the government tried again, this time with coinage produced on contract by the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England. A new currency conforming to the Latin Monetary Union was introduced, the sucre, with its division the centavo. In 1937, this type was struck in Switzerland, along with a ten centavos, twenty centavos and one sucre. The next issue in 1942, was brass.
A former client of mine had a relative that sailed the world in Merchant Ships in the late 1800's to WWII collecting coins from around the world. I bought them years ago from her and this is one of the actual coins he collected.
Please look at the pictures. Nice Nickel color.
