Hi, I'm new to Listia so any suggestions to get more bids would be greatly appreciated. Want to offer nice things people will want to bid on. Be nice please.
I am sure free shipping would help a lot but I don't want to break my little piggy bank right out of the box. lol

Welcome to Listia! This is very nice, but you might have trouble getting some bids due to shipping. For me, I ship almost everything free, and see the cost as the price of doing business on this site. I undertsnad that not everyone can do that though so asking for even a partial fee sometimes helps. But for me, I prefer to usually pay only $2 or $3 depending ont he item. If I ask for a small fee, I pay the difference. But that is strictly up to you. Welcome to the best site around and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! ;) Please message me if I can help you further.

Thank you for all the great advice. I hope to eventually offer free shipping on everything but right now I have to charge on some things. Thanks again for your response. :) I fanned you.

Hi, welcome to Listia. A great place to shop and give away. I agree about the shipping, it is a little high. I also do free shipping unless it is a heavy item then I only charge about half of the cost. I really like this cover up though. I will be watching for now and bidding later. And I fanned you. You will probably find that a lot of people wait until the very last day to start bidding. Do you have a Paypal account for shipping?.

Yes I have Pay Pal for shipping and since I am new I really had no idea what to put for shipping. I really just gave it a good guess. I had so many auctions open I couldn't offer free shipping I haven't worked in 3 weeks so money is tight. I would only charge actual shipping and overages would be refunded to the winner.

I'll tell you one thing that has helped me was to purchase a small scale so I could weigh things and compare the shipping costs between first class and priority. I go through USPS.com and Stamps.com to compare prices and to print out labels. It's so much easier than bringing everything to the post office. My mail man picks up the packages for me. And I can print the labels on regular paper or purchase self-stick labels. Also there are many items that you can get for free form USPS.com like priority envelopes and boxes. Check them out. Hope this helps a little.
