Lovely Mozambique Garnet oval 8x6 mm 1.68 carats. The gemstone varieties occur in shades of green, red, yellow, and orange. In the US it is known as the birthstone for January. It is the state mineral of Connecticut, New York's gemstone, and star garnet (garnet with rutile asterisms) is the state gemstone of Idaho. I bought it because it is my birthstone but decided to list it instead. Very pretty. 8x6 mm is about 3/8 x 1/4 inch. Actually it's a reflection from outside I had it in the window and it was picking up different things like trees and leaves and stuff
