Up for bids or GIN is a Q6600(SLACR) 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Quad CPU. This is a 4 core processor for socket LGA775 desktop computers. It really doesn't get a lot better than this as far as upgrades go for your 775 PC. I've had this for quite some time and considered putting it up on a cash auction but decided to give the loyal users here a chance instead. Since this is a rather valuable item the start bid will be higher than I normally start with but still very fair. Please feel free to ask questions and comment as I'll do my best to answer. Of course, it has been tested for full functionality and shipping is FREE in the US and keep an eye out as I will be auctioning more soon. Thanks for looking and GL!

Wow ... I am inches from using the GIN to put this into our Gateway SX2801. It has a dual core 3ghz in it now & says that its a 775 system.

Just worried I get it & then it'll overheat or be too powerful ???

I've done this swap many many times to upgrade my customers systems and it is not a problem at all. Worst case scenario (which is very rare)is after installation windows may not recognize the drivers for the cpu and still recognize only a 2 core cpu(will still be using all 4 cores even without recognition). Easy fix, uninstall the drivers and use windows update to reinstall correct ones for the quad core. Keep in mind though, of about 20 times I've done this swap only twice I have needed to do this. As for over heating there should be no problems. Make sure your heatsink, cpu fan, and case fan are free of build up and BE SURE to apply thermal paste between the heatsink and CPU.

I completed so many offers on the offer wall to get the 20,000 credits for my previous high bid, dang you steven mcfly :) , seriously tho ive been spending all my free time doing those offers racked up 10,000 credits in the last couple days of this auction just kept adding. Hopefully I can still compete for this if the offer wall gods are kind. Kinda depressed tho since stevenMcfly there was talking about Gin'ing it, O well the struggle to win continues. Thank you for the chance at this mehem its been fun trying to get it.
