Hello Callin... are you interested in the item or correcting me? According to Merriam Webster - Vintage relates to: 1. Dating from the past - is 1966 the past? 2. Old - is this OLD? 3. Used with a pronoun - have I met that requirement. If your intention is to educate me about my merchandise, then my suggest to you is: "KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT" before you speak. Robin, I don't think repair is what is needed. I'm trying to remember how I stored it. If I left the batteries in when storing, it will require removing the dead batteries and cleaning the terminals. When batteries are left in something for a long time corrosion takes place. Cleaning the terminals is a very simple process. You should not pay to have that done, it's a DIY job.

It's not the 1966 version, but it is vintage almost 15 years old. Very cool!
