yes it can ,i can give you a round ring with captive bead witch would be the better ring for the navel...after it heals you can switch it out for a pretty ring with something that dangles.

also, what is the length of the barbell? does it allow room for excess swelling? typical tongue piercings need 18 to 20mm to allow for swelling, whereas nipples don't typically need anywhere near that much.

also, PLEASE DON'T TRY TO PIERCE YOUR TONGUE OR NIPPLES AT HOME! YOU CAN SERIOUSLY HURT YOURSELF. your tongue is a muscle, it has a lot of very important veins in it and an infection can kill you. if you're a woman, a badly pierced nipple can cause mastitis if pierced through the milk duct. this is serious stuff and you should always go to a professional to get your piercings done, there's a reason that we're trained (or should be!)

i am very professionel and been pierceing since 1988.i will send instructions and even call or web cam chat to do this, people out there pierce with improp supplies so im trying to help them that dont have access to a professionals, your right about the harm but wouldnt u rather have someone use the right needle than a dam safety pin?,also what state do you live in and are u board of health certified?i will let the person that gets this know all the dangers and risks, and after care, also no minors,i live in florida and when i started out in 88 we had to go through nurse training to pierce, now in all states any can pierce without any training so like i said im just trying to help people with the right stuff and instructions, and the barbell is 18mm threaded.

hi! :) i'm also a piercer and those gloves and jewellery aren't in sterilized and sealed packets! also, perhaps it was a typo on your part, but piercing needles should be surgical steel, not stainless!

Hey girlpoison, can you like back off for a second because your really starting to get on my nerves. First of all, I think he is doing a good thing by selling sterile needles to pierce themselves rather then people doing it with safety pin. Second, if people want to do this, let them. You don't have the right to tell them not too, all your can tell them is the risk. Third, have a nice day.

you can kill someone if you pierce them wrong, you can paralyze their face! this is serious. it's not a joke, it's not a toy to be played around with and no, you shouldn't be able to buy a piercing gun at wal-mart, you shouldn't be able to buy a piercing gun ANYWHERE. they're horrible! the hole made by a piercing gun is like stabbing a hole through paper. i've had to deal with people whose noses have turned SILVER and BLACK because of badly done piercings, healing advice and/or jewelry. again, this is SERIOUS.

also notice that he hasn't responded to my request for a spore test result. so, why is it me that you're giving "static" to? i have done nothing but ask questions and say to potential buyers that they shouldn't pierce themselves at home. if he wanted to hide my comments, he has that option as a seller. he chose not to, probably because he realizes that i haven't asked anything that shouldn't be asked!

baker, i'm not really sure why you're taking this more personally than either i or the seller, but i haven't said or done anything disrespectful or rude nor have i given anyone any "static." i have simply asked the same questions of him that anyone should ask. i don't think you should do a piercing at home, regardless of whether or not wal-mart sells it. wal-mart sells a lot of things that i don't think anyone should have in their home. just because it's widely done doesn't mean that it's right. just because you came away without an infection doesn't mean that everyone will. as i said in my original posts, he can't guarantee it won't go to a minor or someone that doesn't have a clue what they're doing.. not everyone is capable of piercing, it's that simple. i've had enough bad piercings done on myself and trained enough people to know this as a fact. there are no risks with a professional if you ask the right questions and get the right answers, the same questions that i've asked here. and i really care about piercings and the people that have them. it's a minor surgical procedure and it isn't something to be taken lightly. period. the difference between you and those so called professionals that have their shops shut down is that you don't have a shop and the only person you're potentially harming is yourself and i'm pretty sure the board of health isn't going to come after you for that. oh, and of course, the fact that i've already said MULTIPLE TIMES that not everyone who is a "professional" knows what they're doing. which is why i asked the questions on here that obviously know no one knew any better to ask. again, i have not been rude. yes, i have been curt but i get incredibly tired of dealing with people who think they know everything there is to know about piercing because they watched some videos on youtube, read a BME article, or someone told them how to do it. there's more to piercing than sticking a hole in a person or knowing how to clean it.

ok if you shouldnt do your own pierceing at home then why can i go to walmart and buy a one time use pierceing gun and do my own piercing at home?maybe you should contact them and give them as much static as you are this guy. and before you say they dont carry such a item let me just say they do cause i have bought a few from there. nobody said i deserve a pat on the back. i'm just saying that just because you dont think he should be on here with this auction that you should leave comments like you have on here. i'm sure that most people on here that are looking and bidding on this auction are aware of the risks that come with doing this at home. just the same as the risk is if you have it done by a so called professional. i dont think i got lucky with this piercing or any of the other ones i have. it all depends on how well you sterilize everything and how well you clean the spot you plan on pierceing and how well you keep it clean after you pierce it. no different then if you go to a so called professional. and if your body rejects it then chances are your gonna reject it know matter who does it professional or not. and your right im not a professional and i may not be qulified and not know better as you say so whats the differance between me and the so called professionals that do know better and are qulified that have their shops closed by the board of health. nothing at all . and one last thing as to date i have never had a rejection or any kind of infection to any of my pierceing i have done at home.

baker6, if you had actually read my reply you'd see that i mentioned the fact that bad piercings also happen in shops. surgery mishaps happen in hospitals and i wouldn't recommend you replacing your own heart valve. also, i've made a valiant attempt not to be rude, just truthful in everything i've said. i haven't requested any information that one should not ask for when entering into a tattoo shop to get work done. the reason that i won't buy this professionally is because i buy mine from a verified supplier at cost, i'm a professional, i don't have to buy them off of the internet.

again, as i said before, yes, you can get an infection from a so called professional, just as you can get one doing it yourself, because they don't know any better and neither do you. sorry, but regardless of whether or not you did a piercing by yourself, on yourself, at home, it doesn't make you qualified and you don't deserve a pat on the back for not getting an infection. you did something risky and you got lucky, and you'll probably have to pay for it down the line when you face rejection, fistulas and keloids.

i think this is a cool auction.i won a pierceing kit off here a few weeks ago and my boyfriend did my piercing at home and i didnt get a infection or anything. to girlpoisonsboy those of us that would be bidding on this should know to sanitize the area to be pierced first and no disrespect but i could get a infection just as easy from "a professional" as i could doing it myself. you see everyday places that are "professionals" getting shut down because they dont follow the laws. if you feel so strongly about him not listing this then bid and win the auction and then you can us it as a "professional". sorry lotuslord but i hate to see people that act like that just cause they dont agree with something others are trying to do. oh fanned you .

i don't live in the states, i live in canada and we have different certifications here. in fact, where i live you don't even have to be certified and it's disgusting the stuff that comes out a lot of the basement shops that i've had to fix. i'm certainly not trying to come off as rude, but if you're asking me where i'm certified because you know that it matters to know what you're doing, then why would you think that anyone should pierce themselves? it's a very dangerous medical procedure. i spent weeks learning about cross contamination, germs, infections, placement of nerves & veins and numerous other very important things before i even stuck a needle into a practice dummy, let alone a human being. also, you can't guarantee that this won't go to a minor, or that the person is going to read the instructions you give them, or that they even have any idea what a sterile environment is. i'm sorry again, but i really don't see how anyone that calls themselves a professional would want someone to risk serious infection and injury by piercing themselves at home. if you were selling this as piercing supplies to another professional, i could understand but i really can't abide by this.

also, do you use an autoclave (steam or chemical?) or a dry heat sterilizer? either way, as a professional, you should have the results of your latest spore test on hand, and i'd love to see a picture of that posted with this just to certify that everything is indeed properly sterilized! for those of you that aren't tattooed or pierced, you'll know that this is not an outrageous request and should be asked of any tattoo artist or piercer before you get any work done in their shop.
