*Review::I activated one of these packs for my back and one for the front. Although they are shaped for the lower abdomen, they will still work pretty well for the lower back too. Soon, I was enjoying great warmth and my cramps were eased. The heat lasted about ten hours– much longer than I expected. It took only a few minutes to heat up substantially, peaked in heat at about an hour, and stayed there for three or so more hours, then gradually declined in intensity. I would highly recommend trying these out if you are a Thermacare fan. You will probably be very pleased.

The actual heat output of these packs were more than the Thermacare that I had used in the past. That can be a good thing or a bad one, depending on how sensitive your skin is. For me, it was almost too hot– but not quite. I think if I had worn them in the traditional manner they may have been a little too warm at once point. It is possible to burn yourself with products like this, although it is probably not too common. I like to sometimes wear them to bed when I am having pain at night, because they stay warm longer than a reheat able pack, are safer than a heating pad. (which you should never fall asleep using– although we are probably all guilty of it sometimes!) They also stay in place in case you toss and turn. Or just move, in some cases. Since this brand is a little less expensive here, I will probably use these now instead of the Thermacare, since they seem to work just as well, perhaps even a little better. I have bought three boxes now, and all three were consistent in quality.
