No, I don't think so. It's for amusement, although some people might take it seriously. The cards are nicely illustrated and each "reveals" a character trait, more or less. I don't believe in that hocus-pocus stuff personally.

I suppose they are like tarot cards, but I know nothing about how it's done. Instructions are included. I have never used the cards myself.
