Well, he was a little off...by 4900 kilometers :) It is a 50 Baīsah coin from Oman, 1980 to be exact. Thanks for listing it.

Not a lick of Chinese on it and with the Cross Daggers the national emblem of Oman I will agree with waltsmith330. A great resource on the web for identifying foreign coins is worldcoingallery.com. It is a Website based in Athens, GA by a guy that combined his two favorite hobbies of Coins and computers. HE has two whole pages of national Emblems to help identify where coins come from.
