It goes on to quote a pediatrician's assertions that music enhances the cognitive development of children. And, building on that idea, this edition of the Baby's First series features solo snippets of orchestral instruments introduced and explained by a man named Richard Maltby ("The piccolo is usually full of fun!"). Every piece is covered, from violins, violas, and French horns, all the way to kettle drums and the glockenspiel.
