In hoodoo we never leave home without our mercury dimes for protection. If someone gives you the evil eye or sends negative thoughts in your direction the dime takes the hit for you. Most of us wear them around our ankles or in our boots. Sometimes when there is a hit the ankle string will break or the dime will tarnish very quickly like in seconds of the hit. This one is very special because someone pierced it and made it into a beautiful pendant. There are two holes to choose from. You can put a link through the top or bottom. Mercury dimes are made from real silver! Not sure the actual percentage. It is very close to sterling because I can solder it without any damage. The craftsmanship on this piece is astounding! It is really impressive to me because I have been a metalsmith for almost 40 years and know how hard this was to make.
