Attempting to escape the noise and fumes of the main road traffic, Barnaby turns his bicycle onto a small road where he is captured by a vine that leads him to a land of abundant flowers, animals, clean air, and peace.

Laurel became a bit famous when her journal was published, from Portland, she had cancer and 2 small kids, pregnant with a 3rd. She's become a Christian, and her husband (the major turd) leaves her and takes up with another woman while Laurel's trying to survive cancer, pregnant, small children, and little money. She triumphs over it all and finds strength to run her race alone. End story she married a wonderful children's author and lives to see her kids become adults. Fantastic and beautiful story! She finally passed away a few years ago.
