Cypress USB to UART Controller (CY7C65213) is a fully integrated USB to UART controller that provides USB connectivity to devices with a UART interface. It is a USB-IF certified, fixed function device that requires no programming or driver development from the user. Its integrated termination resistors, voltage regulator, oscillator and Flash reduce BOM costs as no external components are required. This controller is available in SSOP and QFN packages. Cypress provides drivers for all popular operating systems including Windows, Linux, Android and Mac OS.
CY7C65213 has the industry's lowest stand-by power consumption (5uA) and integrates USB-IF Battery Charging specification ver. 1.2 (to detect the source of power on the USB port). These controllers are ideal for applications such as portable medical devices (like blood-glucose meters), point-of-sales terminals, Serial Cables (including USB-to-UART and RS232 cables) and many other applications requiring USB connectivity.
