This drive is a SATA 160gb TOSHIBA MK1652GSX LAPTOP HDD Though it may just work fine as XBOX/PLAYSTATION/WII storage device (assuming your particular device is compatible (that is easy to check. I can help if you leave a comment below. If you are like me then your consoles just don't come with enough space, or maybe you want to carry around a nice sturdy external drive with a data transfer that exceeds usb or micro usb. You can pick these up used for about $50.00 used (Just putting that out there.

It is a standard SATA, I do not see why not. Don't they have a compat list somewhere? We had it on a WII so unless xbox is picky. I thing you would be safe.

Step 1: Pick out a 2.5" SATA notebook hard drive. Just about any SATA notebook drive should work - any speed or storage size (capacity). NOTE: The physical size must be a standard 2.5" wide, 9.5mm tall, notebook hard drive. Certain 2.5" hard drives that exceed the standard size will not work.

You are absolutely right, and the funny thing is that I have been in the HW field for over 20 years. I get my numbers confused. But even IF it was a 3.5 I am sure a lil Duct tape and some elbow grease would work it out for you. With computers it is all about the cables. How many days do you want it lowered to? I will drop it to the MIN

a 2.5' drive is a 2.5" drive is a 2.5" drive :) The best part about THAT is that even if for some strange reason Aliens made your playstation you can get a 2.5" to 3.5" converter for like 3$ at most computer shops. People use them to run laptop hard drives in big computers or the other way around. Heck you can even get a SATA to USB connector and stick it in that way (which is how we did it on the WII)

Ha!! funny you mention the converters as I have a "CUSTOM" build sitting on the floor with an 3.5 IDE converted down to a 2.5 IDE then another converting the IDE to SATA in it!!
