The listing, Sterling Silver Kokopelli Necklace has ended.

Sterling Silver Pendant with Kokopelli figure on an adjustable length black leather cord. I think I got this in Utah. Here is some interesting information about Kokopelli lore:

Known as a fertility god, prankster, healer and story teller, Kokopelli has been a source of wonder throughout the country for centuries. Kokopelli embodies the true American Southwest, and dates back over 3,000 years ago, when the first petroglyphs were carved. Although his true origins are unknown, this traveling, flute-playing Casanova is a sacred figure to many Southwestern Native Americans. Carvings of this hunch-backed flute-playing figure have been found painted and carved into rock walls and boulders throughout the Southwest.

There are many myths of the famous Kokopelli. One of which is that he traveled from village to village bringing the changing of winter to spring; melting the snow and bringing about rain for a successful harvest. It is also said that the hunch on his back depicted the sacks of seeds and songs he carried. Legend also has it that the flute playing also symbolized the transition of winter to spring. Kokopelli’s flute is said to be heard in the spring’s breeze, while bringing warmth. It is also said that he was the source of human conception. Legend has it, everyone in the village would sing and dance throughout the night when they heard Kokopelli play his flute. The next morning, every maiden in the village would be with child.

Even though she was a she! She had a marking on her chest that looked a little bit like a Kokopelli. I called her Pelli for short...sweetest dog, not all Pit Bulls are bad.

Another story says that he would wade through the rivers and the ladies would follow, and then they would end up pregnant. I think that is where the saying "there must be something in the water" comes from... ;) I love kokopelli, but I am safe from getting prenant!! lol

No they're not. If raised right, pit bulls are terrific sweet dogs! I never had one, but have had neighbors who've had. They are so friendly and sweet, I could have stole him for myself!! lol but then my dog, Shaya would have been jealous!

I've known more good ones than bad ones...though I shy away from the ones that have that 'look'. They were illegal when I moved to Colorado so Pelli had to stay in the canyon where we had been living, in a yurt. She had a great life though, thousands of acres to roam.

yea many places have them banned, unles mixed breed. Too bad, but I understand it's the way some are raised that make these places not want to take chances. I know you miss Pelli...my pets are just like my kids! lol

I love Kokopelli. He is also a Hopi healer as well as a fertility deity. I already have 9 kids, and can't have any more, but I also have Lupus and definitely need the healing! LOL Fanned
