My husband gathered me some cattail seed stalk heads so I could grow some around my pond. I'm always fascinated by anything the Indians found uses for back when they were still living off the land! So I collect seeds for many different edible and medicinal plants.
Cattails love wet soil, this auction is for hundreds and hundreds of the seeds (there is no way to count them!!).
The Indians had tons of uses for the cattail, not only as an edible plant but as bedding material,etc.... You can use them in crafts too! You can google tham and there is a wealth of info online from medicinal to edibe to craft making, etc....so I'll leave it at that!

I once dug some up out of a ditch but they didn't survive. So I'm trying seeds this time. i can't vouch for how well the seeds will germinate, but since they didn't grow well from tubors, I would think this is the only other way....
