On and off button. 1" ceramics. It gets up to 455 degrees F. It works very well. The one in the pic is mine. The one u will be getting is new in box (Nib). I use this brand NCAA the springs in their curling irons stay tight and hot as do their flat irons. It retails for $38 on Amazon.

Yes it leaves it very straight especially if you use a leave in conditioning product
