Description

The listing, Homemade Natural Flea Solutions has ended.

You are bidding on recipes and techniques I use in my own home to deter pests naturally, yet effectively. The recipes include a shampoo, an herbal powder safe to leave on floormats, dog beds & kennels, and can be used as a dry shampoo (my pitts skin will get messed up if I bathe them too often, if your dog has a sensitive coat this is great between baths!), a carpet treatment (to be vacuumed), a list of natural items (single ingredient, not really recipes or store bought formulas) to make your dog less attractive for fleas.

Recipes will be sent via listia email or any other email you specify, and hard copies will be mailed upon request at no additional charge.

I do not mind you sharing these recipes and techniques with family or friends, but please do not repost on listia.

Note: The dog is not included, and I am not sending any ingestable supplements to the winner. If you feel the urge to flag this, please give me a reason.

Happy bidding!

Is this safe around cats, reptiles, and other small animals? We have a house full of animals so I have to always be precautious before trying new sprays and powders around the house.

Read below... I am having a hard time finding effects on reptiles, they do not contain tea tree or "snake oil" which was used as a deterrent, but I do not know there are any other oils safe for use around reptiles.

The use of aromatherapy/essential oils around cats is a subject of controversy, I would say the herb powder/dry shampoo would be safe as would the carpet treatment as it is vacuumed up afterward, but I am finding some great online resources talking about higher dilution rates and safe practices such as not closing cats in rooms that are not well ventilated or while oils are being diffused. If I find something that lists oils that are okay to use directly on a cat (with proper dilution) I will message you, but it seems like that would be a rare find as their livers cannot process these things as we (or dogs) can. I have a list of oils useful for pest deterrent, and some may be substituted in these recipes for some sensitivites, but as far as I can see cats are sensitive to the oils in general. It may do some good to research if tinctures or herbal waters are safe, though I don't know if they would be as effective. :/ Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I will do more research. I also cannot vouch for it's safe use personally as I am not a cat owner, so I would hate to misinform you!
