The listing, A Rosary???? has ended.

I believe these are rosary beads. Because of the size of the necklace (50") I can picture this over the shoulders of a robed priest. It really is big. The part that hangs down from the necklace has one ornate metal picture of a family on one side and on the other it says "The family that prays together stays together". On down from there is a cross that is almost 2 inches long that is adorned with a very delicate and intricately carved Christ figure. I am not Catholic. Maybe someone out there knows more about what this is, but I think it's rosary beads.

Are the beads glass or plastic? Are there any markings on the back of the cruiifix?

The ones that are that large are usually hung up on a wall. But there are smaller ones that you can carry around in your pocket with you.

It might also be a rosary for a family to use. Being larger beads, it would be easier to keep up the count on the prayers with a family using it. Generally a priest (actually a monk) who might wear a rosary on their belt, would have 15 or 20 sets of 10-bead sections. That would considered a full rosary (or all of the mysteries). It is a beautiful piece. I have a reallllly large one that I hang on the wall where I teach Confirmation (Sunday School for 8th graders). Thank you for listing this beautiful item.
