Description

The listing, * * Legends Presents * * Mystery Bead Auction w/ Extras for Beading Comments & Answers has ended.

You are bidding on a mystery lot of beads! These will all be glass & crystal beads & not a seed bead in the bunch!

I will start this off with 10 8mm round beads (e.g., pix 4, 5) in red, blue, teal and/or clear (maybe more...I forget what all I have), of which winner will get to pick! I will also add in one of the butterfly beads in the first 2 pix! From then, add a mystery bead for each 75 credits. Beads in photos are just a representation of a very few items I have. Other than the promised beads, pictured beads may or may not be included. NO LIMIT on how many beads you can get! This is a great deal!

** At each 750 increment, I will include a Swarovski crystal bead as a bonus bead!! **

All beads are at least 4mm and a mix of colors, shapes, sizes and styles. All beads will be glass/porcelain, or crystal. No seed or bugle beads for THIS portion...keep reading though! :)

Ok, now, to change this auction up even more, for every Legitimate beading question or answer (please enter name of whose question you are answering), I will add 5 seed/bugle beads of various sizes, and colors!

Please check out my other auctions, including a KVZ stuffed purse (w/GIN!), gift cards, and SO. MUCH. MORE!

Yes, I will fan you, no need to ask. I regularly add those who have added me.

The OTHER thing we should all do is DEMAND that Listia hold moderators accountable. Listia still doesn't pay moderators anything, as far as I know. This is extremely unfair ... moderators have a HARD job, particularly with all the newbies who join Listia and don't bother to follow any of the rules and then want their credits back if they win something, leave negative or neutral feedback for no reason, etc.

MODS should be paid and held accountable, and at this point I find it hard to believe Listia cannot afford to pay their staff.

My concern with this is that then they would start charging us somewhere along the line, then we're just hanging out in a new version of fee-bay. I definitely don't envy the mods their jobs. There are too many nasty, whiney people, even on here.

Well, we have to be proactive if we want to keep this community thriving. I think all of us who sell these items should kinda stick together, and now that I've alerted all the sellers I could find, hopefully we will ALL complain to Listia when we are treated badly.

One thing we should ALL do is be sure we have adequate descriptions, and block anyone who comments something like "is this genuine" or "is this marked Pandora" or "does this have a solid core." Those are all questions intended to give a moderator an excuse to take down your listing. Then they flag your listing, I'm pretty sure.

I personally don't get the whole Pandora craze, but that's the beauty of jewelry...lots of beads to choose from and lots of different creative people making it. I do agree there are "problem children" out there and am all about blocking them when necessary.

I liked it on FB, once I figure out Twitter again I'll share there too! :) Are you able to ship to Canada as well? My daughter would love to receive this auction... Her & her friend make bracelets & earrings for the church's African missions ( Children in Africa & Water for Africa) & these beads would certainly help them out...

Thank you so much for the fb Like! Honestly, between the fact that I've been having serious USPS issues of late, just in the US, and the fact that I know it's been at LEAST 1p years since I sent anything outside the US (my jaws clench now when I think of USPS...yes, sad, I know)...I'm going to have to still not offer Int'l shipping at this time. I do hope you'll understand.

Also, all the gold old mods seem to have disappeared. They probably got sick of spending all their time getting abused. I haven't seen them posting to listings, or posting many of their own. We need to get the good ones back and the bad ones OUT.

Still 4 days left! Plenty of time to sell a gift card or two to get some quick points and bid. We're almost up to 20 Facebook Likes. If we get this above 25 FB likes, I'll add a glass pendant to the lot. I'm not sure who is reading the page 2 comments, but I went to Shipwreck a couple of weeks ago & got all SORTS of goodies. The higher the bids, the better the items I will put in too! :)

Just another Canadian chiming in...I've bought over 100 things from the US in the last six months or so and didn't have shipping issues with any of them. In fact, one seller told me it was cheaper to ship to me in Ontario than it was for her to ship to the west coast of the US. Just hoping you consider it in the future...you have a wonderful auction!

I've got all my stuff relisted and ready to start tonight. I'm calling my beads "Euro or European charm" but also using the term "P&ndora." If anyone else wants to join me in using that term, it might give buyers and easy way to search. It's going to make it hard to find Pandora stuff if we are all using different terminology!

Apparently someone is targeting me and a few other Listia members, and a moderator is involved. 21 of my auctions, most of them ending this weekend, were shut down by Listia tonight. I am trying to get to the bottom of it and may not relist them until I do. In the meantime, please let me know if anyone on Listia approaches you, or already has, about flagging my auctions or winning them and then requesting refunds.

Absolutely!! Hopefully it will be resolved soon & they can assist in reposting. I can imagine your frustration. It's just sad when a few insist on squelching the success of others. If they were to use that energy to focus on doing things constructive, they might find some success too.

I love beading also. I use mostly seed beads, delicas, & 4mm & 6mm glass beads, gemstone beads & chip beads as well, all round beads are subject to be put into something, except for plastic ones, lol.I occassionly do wire wrapping or or chain maille too.I lost everything in a house fire recently & am trying to get me "stash" built back up so I'm glad I found this site,it really helps. I also like loom beading, but so far haven't gotten a loom back as of yet. I have one bracelet ( I think thats all right now)listed on here that I made with more coming soon. i'm also working on a pair of beaded buffalo earrings to list. I'm Cherokee so most of my things hand made are Native American themed & made.If anyone out there has any leather pieces besides thonging that you want to get rid of, please list it-I really need leather & suede for my crafts.I liked alot of your auctions on FB & twitter for you & am watching this one.Good luck on a big winning bid. I love the Listia Legends crew & auctions. Am striving to be one of you guys myself. You are well respected in my book!!

I am so sorry to heat about the fire! I cant begin to imagine how devastating that must have been for you & your family. This site really is a great venue to find beads quickly. It sounds as though you've done beading a long time! I'm still kind of a newbie, but do enjoy it. I wish I had any leather or suede items to throw in if you win, but will absolutely keep my eyes peeled. I really appreciate your comments, likes & tweets.

Thank you for sharing! I'll do the counting up of everything at the end (How perfect would it be if I got one of those counters where you slide the beads across? I'll count it as an answer for the first person who responds with the name for it).

I've always been attracted to anything shiney (I don't have ADD, I have OLS...Oh Look Shiney!) Or colorful & therefore jewelry. I've dabbled in different arts & crafts through the years, and had made some stuff a few years ago that was very basic and worthy of maybe Jr High Art Class...I got back into beading when I realized crocheting & knitting are too much about long-term projects...also? More about color than shiney. I started buying beads here and there & making an item or two, but nothing serious. Then I made a very good friend (Imarkwords on Listia) who had an ebay business & lots of great tips & tricks. I also got a few books on Jewelry Making...then found Listia and have become quite the bead hoarder (please be sure to enunciate & speak slowly if you use that term out lous...lol).

I tend to hoard more beads than I use, but when I get inspired can go to town! There are lots of books you can buy with info. You can also find instructional videos and tips online from places like artbeads.com. while I've gotten a lot of beads on here, the two most widely known places with HUGE bead, etc. Stores are Shipwreckbeads.com (claim to be the biggest bead store in the world) & Fire Mountain Gems. My guess is you can also find good instructional videos on youtube too. Look closely at things you like. Check out sites like Etsy.com and notice each little thing you see on an item. Start with simple things like seed beads and earrings & go from there. :). GOOO! Hawks!! ;)

Thank you for stopping by. For more bids on your items, I suggest tweeting & facebooking. You're also likely to get a LOT more bids if you offer free shipping on your items. I start all of my auctions (with rare exception) at 100 points to offset paying for the shipping, and explain that in my auctions. I know shipping can get really expensive, so I reuse envelopes, bubble wrap and anything else that will help save costs (and maybe the environment). I've even taken to cutting large bubble envelopes into smaller ones to get more use out of them (Check your local Freecycle or Craigslist to see if you can get them for free from others). I also only bid only on items where free shipping is offered (again, with rare exception) so I'm not paying for it both ways. I'm sure it will even out in the end...right? ;) If you want a lot of points quickly, see my tips above.

Beads Beads Beads. We love our beads in our house. Everyone except for the 2 yr old (yes, that includes my 5 and 7 yr old boys) have a collection of beads. When the 2 yr old goes down for nap, the first thing we hear is "Can we make jewelry now?!"
