The listing, Grammer school diploma, dated 1899, Earle Gibbon Morgan, Landsdown, PA has ended.
I don't know who this is or really much about where it came from. I found it mixed up with some books at a flea market in Ohio.
This item states :
Landsdowne Grammar School
This is to Certify that
Earle Gibbon Morgan
has passed a satisfactory examination in the studies included in the Grammar School Department of the Landsdowne Public Schools, and is hereby promoted to the High School Department of the same school.
It is dated June 29,1899.
Signed by the principal- H. Emile Groce
and the entire school board
Saul P Garrett, Charles U Corbin, E. R. Fackler, William O. Freeborns, H. G. Statzell, and J. Flemming. (Pardon me for any misspellings or misinterpretation, given the age of the document, the entire thing almost is done in Caligraphy. There is a golden seal embossed with the schools name and an interpretive image. That holds on a ribbon, half grey, half red, the edges unraveling. The parchment has slight yellowing, as it has made it threw a fire many many years ago, tgere are a couple spots darkened slightly by smoke and maybe a small round water spot or2.. I will send framed with glass, and plenty of cushion - priority mail to buyer.Makes a unique gift for anyone who maybe descended from Earle Gibbon Morgan, or any of those who signed it. or even the Landowne (if its still a place.) Thanks for looking and bidding. If you know of anyone who might know someone who may have known a relative, be sure to pass it on. Thanks so much.
