This coin was originally a 1654 Philip IV 1/2 Reale; but due to supply issues coins from the 1600's were counter struck into new currency like this piece the center shows the original part of the coin which is the Spanish coat of arms. the outer rings and date were struck in 1709.
This piece shows a clear date "1709" and is in a Higher Grade state for this type of coin.
