I agree with Lilly Lulu, My tanzanite goes between purply blue and blue. It could be a tanzanite quartz, which is not the same as a genuine tanzanite. Beautiful ring though, would still be worth having.

this gem has a characteristic blue color. they varie from deep blue to almost a deep violet there are all shades of Tanzanite. I own about 6 and none are the same. a tanzanite in rare cases can even be green. you also have to take in to effect the lighting I used on my camera. It is magnified 10x and of course everiones monitior is different.

Tananite is really not that expensive anymore and I had the setting. I have a lot of loose gemstones that are good quality not great.

Tanzanite comes in a variety of colors. From the deep blue (old mine) to light blue. It can also be various shades of green and purple. Ocean Tanzanite can be blue, purple, green, pink or yellow.

I like the blue tanzanite I have, but I would love to have the exotic colors in my gem collection.
