The listing, Pink Boucle Fabric Remnant has ended.
This auction is for a medium pink boucle fabric remnant that I've had at least five years since completing the suit I made from the original cut. My project was inspired by the suit that Jackie Kennedy wore on the day her husband was shot in Dallas, November 1963.
The large part of the remnant measures 60" wide by 44" long which would be more than enough for a slim knee length skirt. Attached to that large piece is a portion that measures about 18" wide and 27" long. There would not be enough for both a skirt and jacket unless you were sewing for a child.
This fabric needs to be stabilized with an iron-on interfacing (either before or after cutting the pieces) in order for it to behave. It ravels easily.
The weave is very loose and features slubs, which is what makes it a boucle fabric. This is a less elaborate version of the fabric that Chanel jackets are often made of. The fabric was purchased at Joann Fabric and is 100% polyester. I did not prewash this fabric, as I never planned on washing the suit. I think I remember the bolt saying that it should be dry cleaned only.
This will be delivered via USPS, tracking will be included if the winning bid is over 3000 credits.
