No, I believe you...and I really think that makes it even cooler than what it is.... someone didn't bid on it I would take it down....people don't make up awesome stories like that...and I always love to hear about them...History is awesome..I hope it's just the same thing for people 50 years from now, that has been for this generation.. ..

Are armed forces use to counter mark their coins in WWII....The 317 infantry regiment, 80th Division was under Patton. Their is only one division 80. They stamped/ counter marked them with the Division they were assigned to. My uncle who is 95 and has a brilliant mind served in WWII and showed me a coin he had that looks like yours. Pretty cool.
They were truly heroes and put their mark on a lot of things...My uncle told us stories about war that would curl your toes...gave me nightmares and I wasn't even born than...lol But the counter mark stuck out because he shows those off all the time.
