Black Pansy:
A tender perennial that is grown as an annual in cool climates. Germinates in 10 to 20 days with an optimum soil temperature of 65-70 degrees F. Cover small seeds with no more than 1/16 inch fine soil spaced ½ to 1 inch apart. Seed needs darkness for germination. Cover container with black plastic until seedlings emerge. Space plants 8 to 12 inches apart in the garden. Plant height: 6 to 8 inches.
Black Hollyhock:
This variety was mentioned in 1629 and was planted in the gardens at Monticello by Thomas Jefferson. This traditional variety is shockingly beautiful with its near-black flowers and just a hint of red. Gorgeous planted out by the old white outhouse or in the back of your flower bed. A must for historical gardens. You'll love this richly-colored variety.
Black Velvet Petunia:
It took 4 years of breeding, and was worth every day of it! The only black Petunia in the world has now arrived, and is already sweeping up awards and winning hearts. This upright, mounded plant is very compact and tight at just 8 to 12 inches high and wide, and it covers itself from early summer until frost with big, sweet-scented charcoal-black blooms. The perfect combination planting with white, red, yellow, and orange flowers, it is just as easy to grow and tirelessly blooming as other Petunias. You must try Black Velvet this season and admire its inky-dark color up close!
Starry Black Petunia:
