I would say like a vine ripe... I get about 5 to grow on a little vine all over the plant... one plant u can get around 50 r more tomatos off... they put out a lot of tomatos and the green ones r very good as well to fry.... u can pick the when green and sit in a window and they will ripe to a red in a few days...

i have never well grown a beefstake so i don't know how they r real but this i s a good all around tomato plant
