Mimosa trees grow in zones 6 to 9 and need full sun. They have the potential to grow 30 feet tall if very well watered. Mimosas are drought tolerant and will not grow as tall in a drier climate. In my area, they only get as tall as my house. My neighbor's tree stays about 10 feet tall. If you want it lareger, you must fertilize it properly and water it well. The blooms smell wonderful. It fills the evening air and I can smell the tree next door and perfume is so nice. It's a beautiful tree.They are also known in Asia as a Silk Tree.
