Frequently mistaken for plant fossils, Dendrite is actually a crystal that develops with a multi branching tre-like form. Dendrite forms when water rich in manganese and iron flows between microscopic layers of limestone. These specimens are from a natural Iron and Manganese formation on Jurassic Limestone, approximately 135 million years old.

These specimens come in a see through plastic snap top display/storage box with foam insert, measuring 3" x 2". Detailed information card on bottom of box. Rock hound or collector, mineral lover, teacher, home school, educational.
