you do not have to have it sized at Kay's. I wear a ring size 3.5. and bought a ring w/ the Kay's lifetime guarantee which had chips on the side. when the sales person at Kay's said it could take at least a couple weeks at the point of sale when I bought it I looked online and found another place local to me which was reasonably priced where they could ensure the diamonds would be fitted back in if any fell out and the ring wouldn't have to be sent away. hopefully that helps :)
