I too thought that VERIZON phones didn't take SIM cards..However some TRULY do!!I have had to send back three phones from ebay & amazon due to the fact they took SIM cards to operate. I was pretty mad and stunned because I also stated that verizon did not take SIM cards on auctions where peeps asked the same question I did...

Verizon does not use a SIM card - It only has a slot for a memory card.
