What do you mean "put a TEE on top"? How does it stay on the spool? Does it go on a large spool or a small spool of thread? This is really cute! My son made me a pin cushion our of a soda bottle top and had elastic going around the flat part, and then stuffing and pretty fabric at the open end, It was small, and I put it on my finger when pinning things! I think he was 6. He made it in cub scouts.

This is a large spool of thread .You stick the tee in the top of the spool of thread , just imagine how it would be if thread was added to your sewing machine .Only difference here is it sits on the table .I know the pin cushion you are talking about , and i;m certain if you still have that ,it is one of your lil treasure's. Thank you..I understand. I have placed my bid!! and yes, I still have my finger pin cushion lol! I don't think the elastic is any good but I love it anyway. I want to send this one to my new daughter in law. I send her all kinds of little things. Will make her a little sewing kit!
