Description

The listing, Vintage Native American Made Ashtray from SIOUX TRIBE has ended.

This is a Sioux Tribe made ashtray: Vintage, but NOT in "mint condition".: The Handle Is Missing~ These ashtrays have a "handle" that comes up with a hole for placing the finger to carry, as well as the "double set" impressions for holding two cigarettes. Unfortunately, the handle was broken off many years ago, with no chance for recovering it. The earlier creations, such as this one, were "engraved" on the underside, whereas the later ones have "raised" markings. These are actually "patented": which means "No Commercial Copies", and NONE made EXCEPT by a SIOUX Tribe Member~ Not certain of the age; the friend who had it, a Native American, hasn't smoked in years, and had it for a long time. The oldest of these were not "fancy", as they became later and have become. The "REG.U.S.PAT.Off.", which was done by hand, doesn't have the "legibility" of the later ones I have seen, either; but that is just another "hallmark" of "originality"~ FREE SHIPPING U.S.A ONLY~ "Delivery Confirmation #" provided at end of auction

i am sorry about Your Grandma passing :( Pretty sure that She lives on in Your heart though :) My Father was Cherokee and my Mother was French and Pahoja; so I'm like You...loooove all of the "Native" things! Like those arrowheads!, but haven't seen any for years....I've never seen a teepee ashtray, but that sounds really cool! Even when i found out the handle was missing on this "tray", there was just something about this that stayed very appealing; to me. It very much looks like a "novice" of the tribe had made this: child-like. I did find out though, that the Sioux continue to "etch" the figures in the bottom, and not stamp them, as I had thought and said. I don't know if You read it, but I found the Sioux made gloves I had, and those are going with the tray (regardless of the bid): just something old and something new. I am really glad to hear from You! And I Thank You for Your thoughts. That is always the best part for me here: The People!!!

Added bonus to auction: one pair of black fleece gloves made by the sioux nation. the packaging reads: there is no mistake...the crumpled appearance of this package is intentional. the sioux nation relief fund is making every effort to conserve resources. by vacuum packing your fleece gloves we are able to reduce the cost associated with postage and make the package easier to handle. please snip the corner of the plastic and watch as your warm gloves expand!
