Well my friends i still have a few sets left of these wonderful fine porcelain pie birds! i purchased these little beautys in our local vintage store ! for more than the 5.00 dollors than one of our listians said they were only worth! oh my ! i wish id been told that before id purchased them from the lady at our vintage store ! lol! oh well too late now as ive said before i bought these as soon as i saw them because they reminded me of my grandmoms pies cooling on the cupboard with all there little beaks poking thru the crusts! and ive not seen these around at all! ive been told by some these are rare and by one they are not i guess its up to you to decide ! i bought them purely for nostalgia reasons and for the pure perfect baking perfection!!! you take your meat or fruit pie fill it half full put our little bird down in the center of the pie take your top crust cut an ~x~in the center put over the top of the pie poke your birds beak thru the x and seal the edges! then bake! as it bakes the steam will escape thru the birds beak thus keeping its juices in the pie and not overflowing ! oooo, yummmy! then put on the cupboard to cool when done baking and start making your own set of memories! if you are interested in this little girls mate ive got her mate the black bird up for auction also ! hes just as good as she is they both make quite the pair ! hope you enjoy them good luck bidding and happy baking and great memories♥free shipping♥
