Calendula 'Zeolights' is advertised as being pink, but it's really more of a pale apricot color with a pink blush and a darker reverse. The flowers are pinker in cool weather. The double flowers have small, pointed petals, giving them a fascinating new look.

Let calendulas self sow around the garden, making pleasing combinations with roses, perennials and annuals. The soft color blends surprisingly well with most of my color schemes.

Calendula officinalis is great in the vegetable garden or herb garden. The flower petals are edible, and the flowers attract butterflies and beneficial insects. Deer resistant.
