Yes it is a fake the real coin has a satin finish where as this fake has a mirror finish

Because it looks like the real .999 silver libertad but you said its clad. Silver over copper (=plated).

No silver! At least he is being honest in saying they are plated brass. There are a lot of BARS and Rounds going around and some are auctioning them off as .999 fine silver. I have a friend on Listia that got 10 APMEX logo bars (Looks authentic in every detail) only to find out they are Brass inside. So buyer beware.
