What brand are they? Oil pastels are similar to oil paint, without the mess, in their properties and blendability. They were developed by Gustave Sennelier for Pablo Picasso. Picasso wanted a medium that was easy to carry with him to paint "Plein air." (Out doors, on the go) As an artist, I love them. They are my crayons with a kick. You can blend them with your finger or use a little odorless thinner and a paint brush. Voila, you have your masterpiece! Good luck on your auction! Hope the incite helps! :)
