Yes, this is as amazing as it looks!!! I am positive this is a Jon Anderson, however I am not able to prove it as I cannot find a makers mark and am not sure where to look. However if you Google Images "Jon Anderson fimo sculpture" you will see why I feel safe in making this claim. I purchased this in either 1999 or 2000 at a gift shop at the Grand Canyon. It came in a nice box and the box had a larger triangle shaped fimo bead on the top that, as I recall, had a dragonfly design on it. Not sure where the box or bead is now though, but if you have other items made by him then that information may help with the provenance (<<watching too much Roadshow!). In any case, these go for $199 to $400 retail, hence the very high opening bid. There is not a spot on this adorable creature that will not fascinate you! This is in great shape, not a thing wrong with it I can see. It has sat on a bookshelf since purchased, only picked up for dusting. The colors are more muted tones, not brights, but the pics look good for the color on my monitor. I'm not sure what else you would like to know about it, just ask!

Per the comments below regarding Jon Anderson's mark, I did some additional research. I could only find pictures of his mark dating from 2001 and newer. As stated in the comments this is the year and his initials in a little box. The stylized initials I saw look very much like the markings surrounding the "99" in the center of the bottom of this sculpture, but not identical. I do not know if his style changed or if this could be someone else, but to that end I have not and never have been able to find another artist who makes things like this. Additionally, the shape of this turtle, its feet and head and shell are all very much like his other turtles. So, still cannot verify 100% but everything still points to this being a Jon Anderson. If so, it may be even more valuable as it shows his younger works and shows how he has evolved. So bid away! ; )

Two of the pics are with a ruler. Do you mean height? As I recall it is about 3 inches or so high at the top of the shell (the highest point). I am not home now so cannot measure it for sure.

FYI, I was able to find his mark on an item on ebay. It was on the underside of the item and it appeared as JA and the year....The initials are a very unique style and it was near the tail. Hope this helps.

ooo, thank you! That explains the number in the center of the bottom, I'll bet! I didn't know if it was a 66 or a 99, but 99 would make sense now. I will look at it tomorrow in the light when I am home to see if I can see initials. Thank you so much for posting!

Samanthastorm5, if you have a second can you look at the middle of the bottom where there is the 99 and tell me if the markings around the number look like the initials you saw on ebay? Now that I look at the blue markings, I think that might be a stylized JA. I will still look at the rest of it more closely in the light tomorrow.
