An 11-year-old dreamer participates in a big fundraiser to save her school's failing art program, and scrambles to recover her missing diary in this adaptation of Jim Benton's popular youth fiction series. Jamie Kelly may not be the most popular girl in Mackerel Middle School, but in her dreams she's so glamorous that even her popular classmate Angeline is green with envy. Meanwhile, back in real life, Jamie's crush Hudson Rivers never even gives her a second glance
The musical numbers in "Dear Dumb Diary" are well choreographed and very entertaining. They add a great deal to the movie because it keeps the viewer's attention and adds an extra dimension to this already excellent movie.
This movie followed events from several of the first books in the series. It was funny to see how some of these events played out on screen! I recommend this movie for fans of this book series or of other books such as Judy Moody, Dork Diaries, or Diary of a Wimpy Kid, etc...

Overall, this would be great movie to watch with your kids. It's a lot better than the oversaturation of Disney/Pixar films which are rampant these days.
