Description

The listing, Gale Sayers AUTOGRAPH HOF AUTO has ended.

This is a signed card of Gale Sayers. Many will remember him as the best return man ever or as a great RB for the Chicago Bears and football Hall of Fame member. Many other fans will remember him as the movie Brian's Song was based on the relationship of this player and the struggles of team mate Brian Piccalo. That is a movie that everyone should watch!

Signature was obtained through an request through the mail or TTM as many autograph collectors call it. This card is not a certified autograph and has no COA. I have been collecting autographs in person and through the mail for over 20 years and I have thousands of signed items. I am going to list a few that I have doubles of to see how they go and may post up more depending on the results. I have no idea of the cash value of the cards or the $$ value of the signatures. Please do not ask me as I have collected for fun and would have no clue on the value. Get It Now! Assuming these go well tell me if you have a favorite team as I may have something to list that you would be interested in. Thanks for looking at my auctions and thanks for those who fan me as well.

Due to the Super Bowl I am ending these auctions on Saturday and not Sunday this week. I also added a Get It Now as so many folks were asking for it on my auctions. Hope that you enjoy these as I will be taking a little break from listing after this of a few weeks to get prepared for baseball Spring Training autographing.

I don't know about this one. I checked 100 examples of his autograph and in every case he spelled out his first name clearly and distinctly.

I received this and two other cards from him signed the same way. I will pull as I do not want anyone to doubt my autos, but that is how it came from him.

It will not let me pull it as there is a bid! I did not know that! Should the winner not be satisfied with it just request a refund and I will gladly just refund the credits. I will ask the winner look at the autograph carefully as I have done. The signature is like all the certified examples that you see out there from his awesome 9 looking G and the last name as well. The difference is that he just gave his first initial on my card and did not spell his whole first name. Something that I am sure that we have all done in the past when signing our own name to something. To me that makes it more authentic as like the other poster said the items that he has been paid to sign all have his whole first name.

OK, here's a different opinion from someone trained to authenticate autographs (graphology):
Despite what some posters here are saying, Sayers DID NOT always spell out Gale. There was a period where he just used the initial. Most of his HOF covers are signed G Sayers, and here's an 8x10 link where he has signed it "G Sayers".

While it is true that MOST of his autos are full name, it is absolutely not always true.
